Located in Chiba Prefecture, Muji Base Kamogawa is a prefab home built to let visitors enjoy a slower, more community-based lifestyle. It was constructed in a 100-year-old structure once known as the Noda Printmaking Workshop. The design of this property shows a perfect blend of the original building’s more traditional characteristics and the clean, streamlined aesthetic that has become synonymous with the MUJI brand.

The MUJI Base website reads, “You just spend your days at MUJI BASE, feeling at home, and blend in with the unique lifestyle of the local community. During your stay, you will develop a rich sensibility and learn a variety of life wisdom. To create your own local ‘bases’ across Japan is the vision of MUJI BASE.”
