Have You Seen the New Murals Around Bonifacio Global City?
The seven art pieces depict wishes for a better world in 2022
Designed to be a walking city, Bonifacio Global City takes pride in its wide sidewalks, safe bike lanes, and well-implemented traffic rules that prioritize pedestrians and bikers. Vibrant murals and graffiti on huge firewalls, gutters, and parking lots also make exploring the area on foot or two wheels more exciting and interesting. As 2022 rolls in, seven new street art pieces add to the city's colorful walls. These are great additions to the current collection of 36 murals, 22 art installations and 110 street furniture in and around Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

All completed by the end of 2021, the seven murals follow the theme "Rolling Out a Better World," which is all about the interconnectedness of human beings in a society through empathy and compassion. These were painted by Glendford Lumbao, Kankan Ramos, Patmai, Zoe Rosal, Deafeye Studio, Elie Quial, and Woman Create.

The first piece that was put up was Lumbao's 45-foot mural, through the support of Yamaha Motor Philippines. It uses the traditional motif of weaving, symbolizing how people of different backgrounds and interests can find a common thread especially while working together in battling the pandemic.

BGC's flourishing street art scene all started in 2015 through the annual ArtBGC's Mural Festival, a project of the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. It brings in local and international artists around the world to design available spaces around the city.
