It’s no secret that actor and athlete Derek Ramsay has a penchant for art and designer pieces. His beautiful home in San Vicente, Palawan is a testament to that—with the captivating must-haves completing the living, dining, and even sleeping areas. In building and completing his two-storey sanctuary in Alabang, Derek made sure that he was hands-on even from the beginning.

As shared with YES! Magazine, the actor says that it was him “from the ground up.” “It was just me in charge, sobrang makikita mo that everything is in perfect order,” he exclaims. Take a peek inside his special place in the south as we make a list of some of his handpicked essentials inside the home:

Living Area

The living area is spacious, inviting, and picture-perfect. Aside from the e-bike from Vintage Electric that serves as an accent piece, there are works of art, luxe furniture, and elegant furnishings in place. Sprucing up the wall below the AC unit is a portrait of the actor from visual artist Omar Ordoñez Flores's Line Series Portraits.

We can't help but notice Derek's choice of seating piece, too! Instead of an upholstered sofa with legs, he opted for a comfy sofa set from Roche Bobois. It's not only perfect for entertaining friends and lounging, it can double as extra decor as well given the pops of lively hues.

The actor's personal space boasts of more designer picks and a walk-in closet that will remind you of boutiques. To balance out the raw finish of the walls, Derek opted for hardwood floors. The overall ambiance is cozy and hotel-like—especially with the choice of furniture and accessories.

It's safe to say that Derek likes to shop at Roche Bobois. His bed is from a collection designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, also available in the store. Other investment must-haves include:

Bloom Chair by Kenneth Cobonpue

One of the designer's famous pieces, the Bloom is available in colors that will surely liven up any area. While Derek chose red, the chair is also available in yellow, orange, and green, to name a few. It will remind one of flowers in bloom and summer in full swing. The chair highlights a steel base and microfiber, and a fiberglass-reinforced top.
