In transforming their 55sqm condo unit, owners Gel and Dennis wanted to have a Scandinavian-inspired space. “We wanted it simple and maaliwalas,” Gel shares. To make it happen, they once again tapped the expertise of interior designer Nikki Audine. The couple and Nikki have collaborated on a condo project before—a 26sqm Airbnb unit that also has a Scandinavian theme. Since it’s inevitable for designers to work on three or more projects with a similar theme, Nikki had to come up with a defining element that will set it apart from the others.

In finalizing the look of this unit, the interior designer considered the work of the owners and how she can make the space as relaxing as possible. “Ive done a lot of Scandi and small spaces before. This is my first tropical-Scandinavian-inspired project. The overall look is modern tropical-Scandinavian. Since every day silang nagwo-work, I wanted the space to feel like they’re outdoors. Pag uwi nila, kahit wala silang garden, meron silang tropical garden vibes,” she explains. To achieve this, she created a captivating accent wall showcasing a beautiful wallpaper showcasing tropical leaves. Nikki completed the look with space-saving furniture, an interesting shelf, and a functional layout. The owners’ travel finds and souvenirs are on display in the different areas of the unit to add a personal touch as well.
