Summer Colors in a 36sqm Studio Unit

Bright and welcoming, this 36sqm studio unit has everything you’ll ever want in a home in the city. It has a nice view, a comfy bed, enough space to accommodate guests, and a functional kitchen that allows you to whip up your favorite meals. With the touches of aqua, teal, and saffron completing the look, it’s a space that has the feel of summer all year round. Would you believe that it used to be dull and all-white? “The condominium unit came furnished with a bed with a headboard, a built-in closet, a dining set, a media cabinet, and kitchen cabinets. The furniture are predominantly white set on white flooring and bare walls. I knew right away that the space needed colors,” shares interior designer Kimi Manuel.

Since the unit will be turned into a rental home, Kimi knew she had to create a comfortable yet functional space. “The studio unit is rectangular in shape and I helped the client make sense of a furniture layout that was seamless. There is a designated space for sleeping, working, lounging, and dining,” she explains. Taking into consideration the existing furniture pieces and the client’s budget, Kimi brought in refreshing patterns, calming colors, and made a few adjustments to make sure guests will enjoy their stay. “This space does not strictly follow one style. The overall look is youthful and injects a lively mood due to the color palette, variety of finishes and materials, and choice of wallpaper pattern,” the designer shares.
