When you think about modern oriental style, most would conjure images of sleek minimalist architecture, antique Oriental furniture, and exotic textures in a sea of monotone hues. But inside this high-rise condominium, this style takes a different turn.

We first featured Marcie's home a few years back, when it was just newly renovated to maximize the available floor space. Back then, the walls were painted in neutral colors, the Oriental pieces weren't as abundant, and her personal style had not yet completely set itself into the space. But Marcie was determined to turn the condo into something that resembled her childhood home. “I grew up in a big house with Narra flooring, with a modern Oriental look, so that’s how my style is also," she shares. A few years of trial and error, and a little help from her mom, she has finally designed a modern oriental home that’s truly unique. These days, the modern sanctuary is completed with creative personal touches, sleek heirloom Oriental pieces from her family, and colors that unexpectedly tie the look together.
