How This Dark and Sultry Condo Unit Achieved a Homey Feel
A dim color palette didn't stop this two-bedroom unit from being homey and elegant.

A stark white interior isn't always a requirement to make your home feel light and refreshing. Take this 100sqm two-bedroom corner unit in Bristol, Alabang, for example. The owner wanted it to have a dark and sultry theme, and the team at AQM Interior Services was happy to comply without sacrificing a homey vibe.
AQM's Isabel Antonio says they achieved this look with dark wood finishes (another request of the client), which gave the home an industrial touch. From there, they made the necessary fixes to compensate for the dim color palette and achieve a relaxed yet elegant space.
Take a look at the unit below:
Kitchen
To give the illusion of a larger space, they demolished the kitchen wall and made an open concept kitchen that joins the dining and living area. Light-colored pieces like a wide white counter created a flattering contrast with the full black mirrored walls, and kept the unit from looking too grim.
Living & Dining Area
The living and dining area are furnished with light furniture, too, streamlining the colors of the space. But according to Isabel, her favorite part is the dark trellis. "[It] made the living area the focal point when you enter the unit," she explains.
Master Bedroom & Bathroom
"It's important to balance the masculine tones around [the home]," Isabel tells us. "We carefully added mood lightings in every corner to give it more attitude when you look around the unit especially in both bedrooms."
