Cool Colors and Custom Furniture Complete This 68sqm Unit
This halfway home gives color to the lives of its inhabitants

Would you believe that this 68sqm unit was only supposed to be a halfway home for a family of four? The interiors are cozy, colorful, and calming, qualities that would make anyone want to permanently live there. Shades of blue and green on the walls create an illusion of a lush getaway within the city.
Interior designer Tala Singson made sure the place exuded a welcoming vibe its users would want to frequent. The brief was simple—design a colorful and playful home that strays from the minimalist style most houses have these days. Cool hues evoke a tropical feel, a fitting aesthetic as the man of the house dreams of living by the sea upon retirement. You can almost feel a light breeze greeting you the moment you enter the space.
The unit is divided into four main areas—the unified living and dining spaces, the kitchen, and two bedrooms. Maximizing space was the main challenge given the awkward layout of the unit, so Tala designed several built-in seating and custom furniture to give the family enough space to move around in. As a result, the furnishings have a unified look that further makes the interiors easy on the eyes. Each area is defined by the colors used on the walls, with the decor and customized furniture providing warm and neutral tones to balance the overall palette. Ample storage space, another request of the wife, makes the unit look as neat and tidy as it could be.
