With their children all grown up and based abroad, couple Wilbert and Amy Young decide to move to a smaller space in the form of a three-bedroom condo unit. Very hands-on in the design of his home, Wilbert initially wanted everything to be all white. However, with the help of interior designer Vera Villarosa, they came up with a sleek yet chic style with hints of color.

Touches of Victorian elements such as chandeliers, tufting and damask patterns call to mind the romance of a bygone era, but placed alongside sleek pieces and set in neutral colors, the result is a distinctly modern take on the Victorian style.

Living Area

In the living room, a gray sectional sofa is modern in proportions with classic tufting details, while a striped turquoise and white ottoman acts as a vibrant accent in the area. The round coffee table is great for the compact condo space since it leaves a lot of room around it. Its chrome and mirror finish create a nice foil to the area rug underfoot.

Entertainment Cabinet

On the opposite side of the living room, a built-in entertainment cabinet is sleek and modern. The effective storage system also employs sliding panels to conceal the TV when not in use.

Dining Area

In the dining area, a six-seater dining ensemble is a wonderful composition with different designs for the host chairs and the other dining chairs. The regular dining chairs are more contemporary in design, whereas the host chairs are white and tufted with elegantly curved profiles and chevron pattern upholstery for the back.

Instead of closing off the kitchen, Vera created a bar area that separates the kitchen from the living area. This makes the space look bigger and provides additional dining space.

Hallway Detail

Along the hallway leading to the bedrooms, this charming arrangement of décor and art featuring different travel destinations shows the Youngs love for travel.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is elegant and luxurious with its custom-made upholstered headboard with tufting. The bed itself has pullout storage underneath to maximize the space. In lieu of table lamps, the designer employed droplights over the bedside table, keeping it free for to fill with bedside essentials.

Master Bedroom

Across the bed, an entertainment console is punctuated with a classic but subtle wallpaper pattern. To the side, a white wing chair beckons as an inviting reading nook.

The master bath space is maximized with built-in storage, and the addition of a bathtub reminds one of hotel luxury.

Blue and yellow accent colors liven up the second bedroom. The padded headboard sports a damask pattern, but in a yellow and white color scheme, the effect is more modern. Glamorous elements, such as the beveled mirror over the headboard and sparkling chandelier elevate the look.

The third bedroom employs a more muted color palette of gray, cream and the slightest hints of plum and green. Twin beds share a cantilevered night table with a stylish black table lamp.

The hallway leading to main bedroom space is fitted with custom-built cabinets to maximize storage space. At the foot of the twin beds, a pair of patterned stools adds feminine appeal.
