Despite their packed schedule three months before their wedding day, couple Mikey and Tin still managed to handle wedding preparations while completing their first home. To turn the bare space with basic finishing into a simple and homey haven they wanted, interior designer Pam Tan stepped in.

“They asked for minimal design on the structure, and expressed preference for anything by Vito Selma and Kenneth Cobonpue,” shares the designer. To keep up with the neutral theme, Pam opted for furniture pieces with wood as the key element while wooden slat partitions by the staircase will surely captivate guests. The couple also shopped for some of the pieces, asking for Pam's approval from time to time. After all the hard work, the owners were more than happy with the final look—the space turned out to be simple with a laid-back feel, just the way they like it. A word of advice for fellow homeowners? “Just have fun! Work with a good interior designer who can really bring to life what you have in mind.”

The patterned wall art and pillows work well with the sizeable couch from Arena Home, which softens the overall look of the area.

Adding punch to the neutral palette is the red accent chair, a wedding gift to the couple. Meanwhile, the Vito Selma Hanako coffee table adds character.

Dining Area

The dining set dictates the theme of the rest of their home–Vito Selma’s glass-topped dining table with linear wooden base, which they have already acquired even before they start building the house, set the home’s modern Filipino theme.

This spot is perfect for entertaining guests and movie nights. It features a comfortable seating piece from Arena Home and an enchanting wall accent from Triboa Bay Living. These pieces match Kenneth Cobonpue’s stools and Dragnet coffee table that also complete the setup.

This bedroom employs minimal accessories complementing the neutral headboard. The crystal-like bedside lamps were personally chosen by the couple.

The guest room meant for visiting family and friends highlight a hotel-like feel with neutrals taking center stage. To keep it from being too plain, the plant and orange pillows add lively pops of color. The owners can easily change the pillow covers depending on the look they have in mind.
