Since the homeowner once lived in an old condo in a flood-prone area, her daughter decided to get her a new place in Ortigas. While the 168sqm unit was already fit to live in, mother and daughter wanted to make the space more stylish, functional, and comfortable. In order to do this, they turned to interior designer Ayet San Jose-Aniag of Design158 for help.

For a contemporary appeal, Ayet picked a neutral color scheme of gray, black, and white with touches of moss green. She also chose sleek and streamlined pieces paired with bold and graphic patterns for a unique look.

A framed painting adds character to the foyer of the second-bedroom condo. The space is completed with a black-and-white console topped with a few handpicked accessories.

The immaculate white wall in the hallway is spruced up with an eye-catching abstract painting.

Living Area

As seen in this living area, the high ceiling of the loft-type condo helps create an airy and breezy feel. The wide windows also welcome in natural light. A large TV in a customized shelf invites guests to sit down on the sectional couch.

Living Area

The living area is furnished with a couch and coffee tables from Our Home. The colorful pillows and the patterned area rug are from Crate & Barrel.

Since the kitchen counter is complemented with barstools from Modufit (4/L Bldg. A, Megamall), it can also serve as a breakfast nook. The space is illuminated with droplights from Luxen (at CW Home Depot in Ortigas).

Dining Area

Furnishing your own condo? Look for a dining table that can be extended to seat more people. For this space, Ayet picked out a table which can be extended to accommodate the homeowner’s friends. She purchased the table from Dwell at SM Megamall. Completing the space is a lighting fixture from Luxen at SM Megamall.

Great idea: turn an unused space into an unexpected storage option! In this case, the staircase now has cubbyholes that can be used to keep more personal belongings.

Home Office

Ayet also transformed a bare space near the stairs landing into a work area for the homeowner. Unique shelves from Crate & Barrel are useful and interesting pieces.

Master Bedroom

All furniture pieces in the master bedroom were customized by interior designer Ayet and her Design158 team. Personalizing pieces can help ensure a perfect fit in a small space. It can also be a way to incorporate more storage in furniture pieces.

In this space, the area is furnished with a queen-sized bed with drawers underneath. The headboard can also be used to store bed linen and other essentials.
