Type of Home: 38sqm Loft-type Condo Unit

Location: Quezon City

Style of Home: Rustic Industrial

As we grow a little older and earn a little more, many of us think about investing in something special for ourselves and our loved ones. In fact, many people invest in condo units that could serve as a second home and a place that could be rented out to college students, young professionals, and small families.

The owners of this 38sqm loft-type condo asked interior designer Jean Suzanne Sy to create a home that could appeal to possible renters. For an inviting space that would look nice to people from different walks of life, Suzanne opted for a gray-and-white palette and rustic industrial details.

Loft-Type Condo

To make the 38sqm condo appear bigger than it actually is, the interior designer replaced the existing dry wall with clear glass panels. The new glass panels make the loft-type unit appear airy, bright, and spacious.

Living Area

To open up the tight and cramped home, the interior designer put up a wall-mounted mirror. She paired the wall-mounted mirror with a fully upholstered gray sofa and a hanging industrial lamp.

Dining Area

The dining area is furnished with a simple wooden table and metal dining chairs on a geometric-print floor rug. To help save on the precious floor area, the interior designer set the pieces against the wall.

Dining Area

If you look closely at the dining table, you would see a cute pair of salt and pepper shakers! Even the sight of these hugging pieces could make anyone smile.

How can you have a classic country kitchen in a condo in the city? Opt for wooden cabinets and drawers. You can also replace the marble, granite, or synthetic countertop with a wooden countertop.

Instead of ceramic tiles for your kitchen backsplash, you may also choose sleek and streamlined subway tiles.

Just like the rest of the 38sqm condo, the second floor is defined by whites, grays, and wooden tones. The space is furnished with two double beds on wooden bed frames.

Wooden Shelves

Some bedrooms in condo units may seem too bare, plain, and boring. If you want to personalize your own space, you may want to put up wooden shelves. The interior designer livened up these ledges with letters, faux plants, and different books.

Wooden Pegs

You can also spruce up your personal space with clothesline-inspired decor! For an interesting touch, opt for wooden pegs to display photos, notes, and other precious belongings.

Study Table

The study table in between the two beds is adorned with a table lamp with a wooden base, a faux cactus, and a small "Life is Good" plaque.
