A 72sqm Quezon City condo turned into a Family Home
Proper planning and smart budgeting transforms a simple shell into a chic starter family home for three
A creative wife and a practical husband proved to be the perfect combination when creating a starter home for a young family. Kat and Dexter Erro made sure that their condo unit does not only satisfy their need for practical space and aesthetic craving, but also pocket-friendly, putting into consideration the several loans and their son Liam’s schooling.
Some of the features of the humble abode is a faux fireplace—a personal request from Liam—that functions as the media cabinet. The fireplace-cum-entertainment system suits Kat’s preference for the traditional style, as it is flanked by two wing chairs. Some of the pieces also appear pre-loved, such as the dining table that has bumps and scratches, which Kat did not mind as it shows story and character. There were also floor-to-ceiling shelves that serve as a backdrop and a fulfillment of Kat’s library fantasies. Despite the budget constraints, the condo unit was not only practical for the family’s needs, but also aesthetically pleasing.
