Smart Space Planning Transformed This 64sqm Condo Into a Two-Bedroom Home
Interior designer Catherine Cena added secret nooks and hidden closets to maximize the space

Condo units are always a challenge to design and personalize for a good number of reasons. You don’t just make every square meter count, you also need to take into consideration the needs of each occupant. In this 64sqm condo unit in Bonifacio Global City, interior designer Catherine Cena was tasked to create a comfortable home for a family of four that’s not only functional, but picture-perfect, too.
“We really racked our brains with the furniture layout to accommodate all the spaces the clients needed. They needed a walk-in closet, a kids’ room, an extra bed, a six-seater dining table, a breakfast bar, a bookshelf, a wine rack, a full pantry, and shoe storage,” she shares. Given this list and the space she had to work with, the designer had to achieve a Rustic Luxe style as well without making the condo unit look and feel cramped. How can you incorporate all these in a one-bedroom space? Smart space planning and nifty hacks definitely came in handy.
After rising above renovation hurdles and delays caused by COVID-19 restrictions, Catherine and her team were able to deliver a home the family could be proud of. “I just gave Cathy my design inspiration from Pinterest for every part of the house. What I thought was a collection of unrelated styles coming from an undecided client can actually become cohesive. We’re so mesmerized and happy with the outcome,” shared the owner.
