5 Ways to Display Houseplants

As learned from Real Homes

There’s no denying the magic of plants—they can purify the air, help us sleep, and liven up the tiniest of areas at home (including the bathroom!). If you’ve recently acquired a new batch of indoor wonders, we’ve got a few ideas that can help you showcase them at home. As seen in some of our favorite homes, these ideas are easy, practical, and will take a few minutes to accomplish, too! Check them out below:

Brighten up a dull balcony with must-haves you can find in malls. Opt for colorful rubber mats to dress up the floors then use the plants to decorate the edge of the balcony near the railing.

If you have plants you wish to hang to breathe life into a plain wall, you can craft macramé planters or purchase hanging containers when you visit your favorite garden shop.

Stumped for ideas on how to display plants in the living area?

Use woven baskets! This combo adds warmth to the area and gives it a resort-like appeal. Pair it with décor pieces and furnishings in light colors to create a charming setup.

In a spacious bathroom, small potted plants can make a difference. Choose a plant that can make a statement on its own and use to liven up one end of the counter.

Another plant can be placed in a tray together with your toiletries for a pretty vignette.

Do you have a reading corner at home? A big indoor plant can make it extra relaxing.

Revamp your space with a cozy chair, a storage ottoman (you can use this store your books, too!), a coffee table, and an area rug. Place the plant beside your chair for a calming setup. This will look extra beautiful if your reading corner is near a window.

Lovely accessories and plants in mason jars will look good as a centerpiece—how about taking it to the next level?

An elaborate setup of succulents, pebbles, and more greens can give the dining table a refreshing boost. Check with your favorite shop to see if you can order a customized setup or challenge yourself and create your own terrarium.
