These 24sqm-and-Below Condo Units Show Amazing Small Space Solutions
Looking for small space goals? These tiny condos give you all the storage and layout tricks.
If you think that a home below 24sqm has no room whatsoever for style, then you are mistaken. These seven condo and studio units run the design gamut from industrial modern to elegant-eclectic, and offer awesome space-saving solutions, as well. There’s even a modern minimalist condo unit here that’s only 11sqm!
23sqm Bachelor-style studio
Architect Maya Franco created a youthful take on a bachelor pad for this Avida Riala model unit in Cebu. She designed a dynamic but space-saving layout by screening off the sleeping/lounging area (the screen also has shelves), integrating the wardrobe closet into workspace, and an open kitchen with a clever dining table that can be folded away into the counter when not needed.
Relaxing, 23sqm Scandi style
There are a lot of things to love in this chic but cozy condo unit: the sliding doors leading to the bedroom that could separate and unify the spaces at the same time, the slim dining space near the kitchen, and the airy, all-white palette.
22qm of raw, industrial cool
This studio has a lot of texture and warmth, from the brick walls to the leather accents. Things to try from this unit: mirrored cabinet doors to create the illusion of space, a tiny work nook shoved into what was otherwise awkward spot, and a sofa made out of wooden palettes.
Edgy features in a 22sqm unit
Designers Pai Edles and Misty Floro of Morfosis created an unusual space solution for this condo unit at Avida Centera: they elevated the sleeping area onto a chipped-wood platform to separate it from the living and cooking areas. The finishing touch: a geometric, sculptural metal “four-poster” frame for the bed.
Eclectic finds in a 22sqm studio
Instead of going for the usual minimalist-modern interiors for a studio unit, architect Allen Oblena and interior designer Vera Villarosa Orila went the other direction and filled this studio unit with eclectic, vintage furnishings to create an elegant and sophisticated look. They defined the living area by creating a wall panel made out of floral fabric from Townes.
17sqm of sustainable design
Interior designer and eco-living advocate Willie Garcia merged modern style and sustainable living in this Manila studio unit. One of the standout features is this headboard/ceiling/wall accent made out of leatherized water hyacinths. Water hyacinths cause flooding in waterways and rivers, so harvesting this plant minimizes this.
Modern minimalist micro units at 11sqm
Micro-apartments—meaning, apartments and studios that are less than 32sqm—are becoming a trend in the Filipino real estate market, giving young urban professionals a safer, more comfortable, and stylish option to sharing rented rooms.
Point Blue is one of the pioneering developers offering micro-units for rent, and fit out each self-contained unit with a private bathroom, comfy mattress, underbed and hanging storage, drawers, desk, chair, water heater and bidet. All can be rented for a very reasonable price.
