Youtube is a gift that keeps on giving. From easy recipes and tutorials, to walkthroughs and inspiring interviews—the social media platform is teeming with ideas we can’t wait to try ourselves. Of course, we also get to stay updated with the lives of our favorite celebs with a few videos, too. After featuring Kris Aquino’s Quezon City home tour, we can’t help but wonder if there are still areas worth seeing after she gave a peek into her kitchen, her son’s play room, and even a few bathrooms.

In a recent upload, Kris gave a quick tour of three private spaces found in her house. The multimedia personality has a chic powder room and two bathrooms worth noting. If you’re planning to give your loo a makeover this year, these spaces can be your pegs. Bathrooms are often small but they take quite a beating on a daily basis, making a quick redo a much-deserved home improvement project. Take note of ideas inspired by Kris’s space below:

Chic and Colorful

In the video, Kris shares that she wanted to highlight the colors of the rainbow in the compact space. To do this, the walls showcase vertical stripes of various colors—from orange and yellow, to red and blue. The colors complement each other to create a playful aesthetic. Since stripes were chosen, it gives an illusion of a taller, bigger space.

RL Tip: If you're hoping to do a DIY paint job, working on stripes can be easier with masking or painter's tape, available in all hardware stores.

For a sophisticated touch, a mini chandelier illuminates the space and gives it a warm glow. The chosen lighting piece gives the powder room a vintage glam vibe, too.

Find a similar lighting piece at Azcor.

Kris completed the look of the space by sprucing up the ceiling with floral wallpaper. The chosen print works with the colorful walls while completing the wonderland feel of the space.

Opting for floral prints that match the colors on the walls helped achieve a cohesive, well-thought-out look. Your chosen wallpaper can liven up your ceiling, too! Aside from considering a pattern that matches your walls, you can be bold by choosing something captivating that can double as conversation starter. Find wallpaper options at Studio Eleven.

Sophisticated and Neutral

Also found on the ground floor, this all-gray bathroom features a shower area defined by a glass enclosure. Gray subway tiles were used on the walls, with non-slip tiles chosen as flooring. If you're sharing the space with a friend or a roommate, an all-gray palette works best as middle ground.

RL Tip: You have the option of painting one wall in a darker shade of gray instead of using tiles to create contrast.

Shop for tiles at Wilcon Depot.

Those shopping for fixtures may want to invest in accessories that can make you feel like you're in a spa. Be on the lookout for dual shower heads, water heaters, and other add-ons that can improve your T&B and make it extra functional.

RL Tip: Find bathroom accessories and fixtures at the Kuysen-Hansgrohe Flagship Showroom, Unit 1,2 and 6, G/F Eton Residences Greenbelt, #122 Legazpi St., Legazpi Village, Makati City.

Industrial and Masculine

One of the things we loved in Kris's home tour was the peek into Josh and Bimby's locker room-inspired T&B designed by Heim Interiors. It has a bathtub, a glass-and-steel enclosure, and black subway tiles that give it a distinct masculine appeal.

To achieve a cohesive look, the shelves and cabinets are painted black as well. This design move adds to the sleek and streamlined look of the T&B as well. Take note, the laundry area was also included in the bathroom, for convenience. The black washing machine makes it look coherent.

RL Tip: Those who wish to renovate their bathrooms into an industrial-inspired space may start slowly by updating the accessories first. Look into the possibility of changing your lighting pieces and cabinet knobs. Retiling may cost a fortune—you can save up for it and work on minimal changes first.

If you're going for an all-black palette, don't forget to bring in pops of color to keep it from being boring.

Towels in red and accessories in vibrant hues break the monotony of the space and keep it interesting.
