6 Ways to Refresh Your Bathroom on a Budget
Adding a new rug and a few colorful pieces can make your T&B look and feel new
How many times do you update the look of your bathroom? Truth be told, many of us would rather spend on new pieces for the bedroom, living area, or kitchen rather than give the loo a makeover. In all honesty, as long as the bath is clean and smells fresh, I’m all good – no need for fancy décor and extra accessories.
However, if you think about it, since you use the T&B every day, you might as well give it the touch up it deserves. Aside from keeping it clean and avoiding funky smells, you can add simple pieces and work on minor improvements. Here are six budget-friendly ideas that you can consider:
Create a relaxing feel by adding indoor plants and tropical-inspired elements. "If the space permits, add an indoor plant to spruce up a corner. You may also add orchids on the countertop," shares interior designer Anla Li-Tan.

If you're feeling extra creative, you can follow a theme when it comes to choosing decor and accessories. For a simple yet stylish look, you can liven up an all-white bathroom with lively colors like red, yellow, and green.

Replacing an old rug can immediately improve the look of your private space. "Let go of the shaggy rug in front of your water closet. Is it cleaned regularly or is it harboring mositure and bacteria?" asks interior designer Kimi Manuel.

A surprising color choice is an unexpected touch that would amp up the look and feel of your loo. One of the best bathrooms that we've seen is this space found in a Mediterranean-inspired home in Laguna. It has unique aqua-colored walls and distinct tiles that can be purchased at The Tile Room. If your budget allows, you can also invest in a new set of tiles or have the existing ones cleaned and regrouted.

How often do you see wall accents in the bathroom? You can choose to hang prints, photos, and artwork. Since we go straight to the bathroom in the morning, why not display a piece with an inspirational message or a motivational quote? We're sure that it will perk up your day!

Like we always say, you don't have to buy pieces and spend on a home improvement project in one go. You can save up for a piece and once it's done, it will surely be worth it. How about adding an enclosure in your private space? "Consider installing a frameless glass shower enclosure to modernize the bathroom and make it look spacious," shares Anla.
