See How This Mom Converted a Tiny Van Into a Tiny Home
"The past 10 years, I say I've never lived my life like the way I should have lived it," Katrina Quisil shares.
Katrina Quisil is a single mom of two, who works at a pharmacy during the day and at a BPO company at night. Inspired by British couple Joe and Beth Edwards who converted their minivan into a tiny camper, and realizing that being mobile is the best way to juggle two jobs, Katrina decided to upgrade a Suzuki DA62 Big Eye Van which she initially bought for P215,000 to suit her needs. The customizations only cost her around P5,000, as her brother and her cousin helped her set things up.

“I love how the van gives me a comfortable space to rest whenever I want to,” she says. “I stay in the city on weekdays and travel on weekends.”
Katrina has given the interiors of the van a local look. “I wanted the design to have this rustic feel, Filipino vibe.” She also installed a banig on the ceiling, which she says gives great insulation.
“Traveling on a usual basis without breaking the bank inspires me to continue this lifestyle,” she adds. “The past 10 years, I say I’ve never lived my life like the way I should have lived it. Van life travel for me is so liberating.”
