This Pinay Turned a 1996 Van into Her Own Mobile Home
Phoebe shares how van life has taught her the value of simplicity.

A 1996 Kia Besta van is what freelance makeup artist Phoebe Leonor calls home.
“The real struggle was starting,” she said in an interview with Summit Media. “You would hear a lot of hearsay from other people. Siyempre this is not a typical lifestyle… It can be discouraging sometimes, pero kasi nga I was so passionate about this van, so I didn’t let anyone talk to me out of it.
Furnished with Tiffany blue interiors, Phoebe’s home has a Bohemian vibe and does not lack for patterns and décor. It also has a tiny kitchen, with a pump-powered sink and a small stove. One notable addition to the vehicle are solar panels, which enables her to use electric appliances.”
Phoebe says that the customization cost her anywhere between P100,000 to P250,000, but she saves a lot in the long-run.
