Reader Question: How Can I Organize the Bathroom in my 22-sqm Apartment?
Make the most of a small bathroom with these practical decorating ideas
Q: I live in a 22sqm apartment, with a bathroom that also serves as laundry area. The bathroom is very narrow but has a high ceiling, and I don’t know how to organize my pails, toiletries, basins, hangers, and other things in it. Can you help me? – Andy Trevor
A: A small bathroom calls for utilizing every available space. It's a good thing you have a high ceiling—you can use that space for storing your stock of toiletries and towels. It may sound weird, but I suggest you install a bookshelf there (either floating shelves or with brackets) and place storage bins on top to "hide" your things. I've found that bookshelves are big enough to hold baskets and plastic containers and are easy to install.
Place more oft-used items closer to the vanity or shower with the use of glass shelves or wire baskets that can be installed on the wall. Towel bars or hooks can be placed behind the door, and trash bins can go below the lavatory or the small space next to the toilet.
