This Store Will Make You Feel Like You’re In Your Dream Home

Home Folk carries Scandinavian pieces that aren't only pretty—they're pocket-friendly, too

Home Folk opened its doors to the public mid-February of this year, but the family who runs it has been in the furniture business since the ’90s as one of the pioneers in flat-pack furniture. The family went on their way to bring in familiar brands such as EDIA, and international brands such as BoConcept and Sancal as well.

Home Folk is the company’s answer to the simple, laidback, Scandinavian style that is still very much alive and kicking. Brand manager Maxine Ong said the reception of customers to Home Folk has been warm and promising. “The message that we’re trying to put across with Home Folk is the idea of a home—that it shouldn’t be just a place where you buy furniture, you fill it up, and then you eat, sleep, then walk out. For us, the definition of a home is a lived-in place, a place where you can be whoever you want to be.”

Walking into Home Folk is, indeed, much like walking into your own home. Living room displays are put up in front, showcasing the brand’s overall inclination towards solid-colored pieces in whites, creams, or the oak wood left to shine through. The store is awash in a lot of neutrals and clean and simple lines made for compact spaces. Maxine adds, “It’s more homey. Our structures are a bit larger, we have more wood items, more feminine colors like light pinks, yellows, blues.”

Further into the shop is a continuation of the living area, with entertainment tables, dining sets, pieces for the office or study, and a mix of select home decor. Down the end of the shop are two complete bedroom displays, with one showcasing a rose-quartz hue, the other a more stark display of minimalist pieces that are young and perfect for startup homes.

If the displays are what will draw you into the shop, it will be Home Folk’s unbelievable price points that will make you stay. If you’re always wondering as to why a simple-looking Scandinavian-inspired piece costs an arm and a leg, patrons are pleasantly surprised to find items in Home Folk that are quite the steal, considering the high-quality materials used. The pieces they offer are also sourced from all over the globe—some straight from the Scandinavian region itself—Denmark, Norway, some pieces are from Asia, while some of the pieces with higher price points are from Italy.

Home Folk is located at 3/L Uptown Place Mall, 38th Street cor. 9th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. You may call them at 802-5565 or 0917-538-4424 or send them a message through up[at]
