This Makati Store Sells Scandinavian Pieces In Cool, Millennial Colors
Blush pink or emerald green furniture, anyone?

Scandinavian style is having a renaissance of sorts, possibly because of local homeowners’ tastes veering towards clean lines and minimalism. But where could you get these brands, lest you unknowingly snap up a reproduction?
The answer would be Curio Cavern, which recently opened its showroom in LRI Plaza, right in the designer heart of Makati. The store carries popular and original Scandinavian brands such as Gubi, AYTM, and Menu.
The pieces—some of which can be bought off the floor, and others purchased on indent—still have the classic, streamlined Scandi forms, but revamped in fresh Millennial tints such as blush, lilac, cornflower, raspberry, and emerald green. Here are some of our picks:
Gubi Beetle chair
We’ve seen a lot of department store imitations of this upholstered chair, but nothing beats the original. It has been gaining popularity since its introduction in 2013, not only for its style, but because of the many options you can customize for its upholstery and base.
Masculo dining chair
This chair by GamFratesi combines the simplicity of Scandinavian design with the flamboyance and midcentury vibes of Italian style. Masculo also makes for a great study chair.
Stilla pouf
This teardrop-shaped pouf can be used solo, in a pair, or grouped to create a central seating spot. The colors are fantastic, ranging from dusty green to deep Bordeaux.
Gutta jewelry box
Another teardrop-shaped object by AYTM, this jewelry box has a mirrored lid that can be tucked into one of the interior slots so you can check yourself out while trying on those earrings.
Geometry vases
These pieces by Rialhiem are modern and sweet at the same time—most are in metallic finishes or millennial pastel colors. Try adding these delicate ceramics to a raw-concrete-finish area for contrast.
