Shop of the Week: Costa del Sul
For a relaxed beach house feel or a charming country style, choose recycled wood furniture and other rustic pieces

Just one look at the window display of Costa del Sul and you’ll immediately get transported to a vacation house on a tranquil beach or a pretty cabin on a blooming prairie.
The store is stocked with mostly wooden furniture, but they’re not made of standard tropical wood. All furniture pieces here are made of either recycled or upcycled wood—lauan, apitong, santol, yakal—from Luzon. “We have been in the recycled wood business for over 15 years, and we don’t want to cut trees,” explains Didier Kerveillant, director of Costa del Sul. With the help of his wife Veronique, an interior designer and the store’s general manager, the wood that they source are turned into eye-catching pieces.
Large items like wooden sofas, cabinets, beds, and even a complete kitchen and dining set are displayed prominently in different parts of store. Costa del Sul also customizes furniture pieces to cater to the needs of their customers.
The store also carries small items like ashtrays made of natural stones and coasters made of wood and glass. There are also a number of parasols in a variety of colors and sizes, which can serve as whimsical bedside décor or garden accents.
