After her stint in the publishing industry, Real Living founding editor Apol Lejano-Massebieau established La Pomme, a shop that offers hand-sewn plush dolls, traditional Pinoy toys, papier mâché figurines, and other unique finds. In 2007, Apol started by selling small pieces like plush apples and dolls on Etsy.com, an online selling community of handcrafted products. After six years, the steady demand for La Pomme pieces inspired her and husband Pierre to finally open their own store.

While the kids are attracted to the swaddled bears and fluffy mushrooms, Apol shares that most adults feel nostalgic upon seeing shelves of plush dolls and animal figures – happy reminders of their own carefree childhood years. This is in line with Apol’s commitment to making pieces that would draw the young ones away from gadgets and give the young-at-heart a chance to remember some of their most cherished memories. Customers are always welcome to pick some checkered apples, let their imagination run wild with patchwork owls, and soar high with a polka-dotted flock of birds!
