Through his inspired furniture pieces, Ito Kish celebrates Philippine creativity and craftsmanship. His designs reflect both the country's unique European-influenced history and Asian heritage.

To learn more about this design consultant and chief visual storyteller of Kish, we asked him to name some of his favorite things.

Favorite area in the house

“The foyer. It is the start of what to expect when you enter the house. It sets the mood. The foyer is sort of like your drumroll.”

Favorite recycling trick

“Silver-plated trays. Use them to beautify anything, for the wall, or just simply decorative by mixing them with other pieces.”

Find similar at KISH, 233 N. Garcia St., Makati City. Visit the KISH website here.

Favorite object on the night table

“Water carafe. You need it after having nightmares, after eating chocolates before bedtime, and the list goes on.”

Find similar at Make Room & More, Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

“Mantes-la-Jolie from Astier de Villatte Paris. There are other scents from Astier, but I just love this one. It kinda relaxes me, and you know the scent is there in a very subtle way.”

Available at Astier de Villatte.

Favorite home design book

“Recently, Modern Originals. I was in Copenhagen twice and I brought in pieces from Scandinavia and when they got here, boom! It’s such a strong look and feel. We decided to carry it as part of our initial inventory of design-related books at KISH.”

Available at Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City and at KISH. Visit the Kish website here.

Favorite travel destination

“New York City. It is the center of the world. Everything happens there.”

Favorite pick-me-up treat

“Nuts. Any mixture is good and most of them are healthy.”

Favorite home accessory

“Antlers. These give any space character and that feeling of classic, old world.”

Available at KISH.
