In Case You Missed It: MUJI Is Opening Their Second Biggest Store in the Philippines

In March, MUJI opened their biggest store in the country at Shangri-La Plaza and fans of the Japanese lifestyle store immediately flocked to the 1,400-square meter space to check out its wide range of finds. In case you've yet to drop by or the branch is a little outside of your usual hangout area, worry not because we've got good news for folks who reside a little further south. Less than a year after their largest branch's official opening, MUJI Philippines announced that they'll be opening their second biggest store in the country at Central Square in BGC some time in the first quarter of 2022. Mark your calendars!

MUJI teased the opening of their second biggest store on September 10 through a Facebook post stating that they were "building something big." They finally announced what that "something big" would be through another social media post on Saturday, September 25. "We're moving to a larger space," reads the Facebook post. MUJI's current branch in the central area of BGC—located on the second floor of Bonifacio High Street Central on the corner of 5th Avenue and 28th Street—first opened in 2014. Their biggest branch in Shangri-La Plaza saw the brand transforming their previous outpost in the Mandaluyong mall into a space more than triple its size, so it looks like they may be doing the same type of expansion to their BGC branch, this time moving it a few streets down to the Central square mall. We're already dreaming about the possibilities!

Though MUJI has yet to announce a final opening date, the first quarter of the year takes place between January and March, so at the latest, we'll be seeing their new outpost just in time to mark their largest store's first anniversary. We're crossing our fingers that they'll open the store in January just so we can start 2022 off with a bang!
