Decorate Your Home for Christmas for Less Than P1,500

A trip to the bookstore is in order

Bookstores nowadays have evolved into hubs offering a bunch of other items—from office chairs and tables to painting essentials and even freshly brewed coffee. If you can’t wait to decorate your space for the holidays, a trip to National Book Store can help you get started. The wide array of ornaments can turn an old Christmas tree into a lovely focal point in the living area. We also spotted a few tabletop décor pieces that can bring some good cheer to your humble abode. Check out our finds below:

Spruce up your tree with poinsettia, glittery flowers, and snowy ornaments.

The flowers come in different colors—with some covered in glitters and accompanied by pine cones. We love the gold versions of the poinsettia and the bright red ones, too. Depending on the look you want to achieve, you can stick to one color or mix-and-match the ornaments for an eclectic tree.

Solid-colored ornaments (gold, white gold) are available at P99 each. Those with pine cones, glitters, white flowers, and in felt are sold at P110 to P129 each

It's safe to say that Christmas balls are staples when it comes to holiday decor. At National Book Store, the balls are sold by 3s or 20s, and in varying sizes too. Prices range from P149 to P250 for big ones and P880 for a container of 20 balls. Aside from flowers and balls, Christmas ribbons are also available, with prices ranging from P200 to P500 each.

Plushies are becoming favorites, with some homeowners using these cute pieces to decorate the tree and as part of charming vignettes. Experiment with the look of your home by using these accessories as tabletop decor and as accent pieces in the dining area, too.

You will find Santa Claus, the snowman, and a cute reindeer on wired legs. Use these to add some holiday vibe in the foyer, living area, or in your bedroom. Pair it with scented candles in pine for a homey ambiance. These pieces are available at P399 each.

Celebrations won't be complete without sweet treats. Keep cookies, brownies, candies and mini cakes in these jars. You can even give them away as gifts to your friends. These cute reindeer jars are available at P229 each.

Welcome your guests into the home with jolly Santa Claus. These figures can be placed by your doorstep or in the foyer. A mini Santa can be placed in the living area too as a companion to your Christmas tree. Decorative Santa Claus figures come at different prices, depending on the size. Small ones retail at P350, while the medium-sized ones are for sale at P420 each. The sitting Santa is available at P560.

Christmas wreaths can liven up blank walls and complement the rest of your decor. If you're looking for something different this year, you can give the traditional wreath a rest and consider this LED Wreath Ball that sparkles at night. Prices vary depending on the number of balls and lights, but the piece with 20 lights cost P1,699.75.

Your decor won't be complete without a belen. This nativity set is available at P765. It's perfect for small spaces and will look good on your coffee table in the living area, too.

You can also shop for Christmas lights on your next visit.

Lights are available in different lengths, with some brands offering cool white and warm white lights. Prices range from P400 to P700.

All items are available at National Book Store. Prices may change and vary. Visit the nearest store to check and compare prices.
