Buying the perfect gift for friends and relatives can be challenging and exciting. Since we all want to give something pretty and functional, we tend to overthink and end up buying items that they don't really need. Don't worry—we've got a list of questions that can help make buying gifts an easy and fruitful experience: 

1. Determine the receiver's style

Buying an item just because you like it is a no-no—unless you and your friend like the same things always. Since this is rare, it's best that you pay her a visit at home and see what kind of decor she likes. Is she more of a minimalist or a maximalist? Does she like Asian-inspired pieces?
