RL News: Nippon Launches Young Designer Award Contest for 2015
Interior design and architecture students are invited to join this design competition
Improving functionality, enhancing experiences and transforming lives is the core ethos of "Design With Heart," selected as this year's theme for the Philippines’ second Nippon Paint Young Designer Award. "Design With Heart" aims to be the catalyst that spurs young interior design and architecture students to ideate concepts that infuse convenience, practicality and purpose into our living, working and leisure spaces.
The challenge is to create environments that will benefit people from all walks of life, including the elderly, the young, and the disabled. Up-and-coming designers are encouraged to share their vision of an ideal workspace that promotes work-life balance, is engaging and innovative, and is also eco-sustainable.
The Nippon Paint Young Designer Award is supported by professional societies and government bodies such as United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), Council of Deans and Heads in Architecture Schools in the Philippines (CODHASP), Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID), Council of Interior Designer Educators (CIDE) and officially endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Interior design students from 3rd to 4th year, and architecture students from 3rd to 5th year from around the Philippines are welcome to join. Submission of entries is from July 15 to September 30, 2015. Check out the complete project brief, rules and regulations, and downloadable entry kit at www.youngdesigneraward.ph
