Reader Question: Where Can I Get Sheer White Curtains?

Design consultant Issa Villar-Ching reveals how you can have affordable yet chic window drapes

Q: I like the look of sheer white curtains, but I also want drapes that are opaque enough to give me privacy. What kind of curtains should I get and do you know the specific place where I can get this?—Lana Tiotuyco

A: When Rachel Ashwell's show was still on the air, I had my "Shabby Chic" phase and I wanted nothing but sheer, white curtains. I also had a hard time looking for the right ones until I decided to use katsa or muslin cloth. Katsa is light and sheer yet opaque enough to maintain your privacy. You can find this fabric at your local dry market and your mananahi can turn them into curtains.
