Starting This May, Hundreds of Deserving Moms Will Get Free Washing Machines
So they can spend more time with the ones they love.
It’s no secret that May is one of the merriest months in the year (after December, of course!). Think graduations, family reunions, fiestas, and of course, Mother’s Day. The holiday may have passed last Sunday, but that doesn’t mean we should let another year pass before showing our appreciation for moms everywhere.

Motherhood is, after all, a 24/7 job: one that requires an endless well of patience, understanding, and love. Between going to work and caring for the kids, moms already have so much on their plate—and that’s not counting all the household chores that they need to accomplish. To the busy mom, tasks like cleaning or doing laundry can feel like additional sources of stress that only take precious time away from family.
But that burden will be eased starting this May, since two hundred washing machines will be donated to deserving moms and communities by Electrolux and their logistics partner CEVA Philippines through their corporate social responsibility program, “Love You Loads.”
The free washing machines will go to the beneficiaries of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and the Gawad Kalinga, who work with families in poverty-stricken areas all over the country. Aside from families in need, the appliances will also go to the dormitories of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and charities that support the needs of sick children and their parents. "Laundry should be the last thing they worry about," said Electrolux Philippines Country Marketing Manager Andrea Soto-Pionilla. "Having a washing machine in their household can make this chore faster and easier so that [they] can move to more important things and families can spend more time together."
