Artificial intelligence has gone from being a floating idea to becoming a part of our daily routine in the last few years. The handy iPhone has Siri, most laptops have Cortana, and every other gadget has access to Google Now. Aside from these, there’s another one that you can add to your list— Amazon Echo's Alexa

If you’ve shopped on Amazon in 2016 up to the present, you’ve probably encountered an ad or two for Echo, a home Bluetooth speaker, and Alexa, the cloud-based virtual assistant that powers it. Whether you want to hear the weather forecast, start up a radio stream, control your smart lights or play your favorite songs, if it is part of Alexa’s pre-programmed skills, you can access it through the Echo.

This smart device is always on and connected to Wi-Fi, so all you need to say is the wake word, "Alexa" and it lights up and streams audio to the cloud server running on Amazon Web Services which is the main source of information, music, news, and more.

The best part? The more you use it, the more it adapts to your speech patterns and personal preferences. Eventually, it will be able to hear you ask a question even while it's playing music. It is also Bluetooth-enabled and streams top services like Spotify, iTunes, or the library on your smartphone.
