6 Greenhills Furniture Stores, From Budget To Break-The-Bank

This well-loved shopping haunt has more furniture stores than the ones you can find in the tiangge

The Greenhills area in San Juan always connotes a frenzied type of shopping, wherein you’d find yourself winding in and out of the various tiangges. But the shopping hotspot also has beautiful designer showrooms and myriad home décor choices. Here are some noteworthy ones:

Songdream

A delightful, midcentury bungalow along Connecticut is the showroom for Songdream, a North European brand of furniture. Expect lifestyle vignettes that are arranged as if in a home. The pieces are modern, but timeless, with a tinge of retro, midcentury feel, and with mid-range price tags (wooden dining chairs and tables range from P14,000 plus and up).

Mav Furniture

Prior to veering towards this cozy country style, Mav Furniture (formerly known as Home Mavericks) showcased mostly modern pieces. Managing partner Eric Po recounts, “Dati kasi, we used to do modern. But now, instead of going with the trend, we’re actually trying to set the trend. So what we do is we are [going for] more of the country style.” Price points range from P2,000 to P3,000 for decorative accessories, elegant wallpaper from P6,950 and up.

Of course, we can’t write about Greenhills without mentioning their shopping center. Greenhills as a whole is undergoing a massive renovation, but you can still find multiple stalls within the main Shopping Center and Shoppesville selling various handicrafts, capiz lights, small antique furniture, and artwork. If you want a more relaxed shopping experience, visit the Blims showroom at the second floor of the Lifestyle Center. Just don’t get distracted by the other goodies!
