This Cinema in Taytay, Rizal Has Reopened
Several SM Cinemas near Metro Manila are back!
Been missing your late night cinema dates? Going to the movies was a huge part of Metro Manila city life—until a few months ago when, well, you know what happened ("2020" ring a bell?). Well, a few movie houses near the capital region have been given the green light to operate again under MGCQ by the task force! SM Cinemas in Taytay, Rizal, officially reopened on October 14. We check out how watching movies in the theater is set to change.

The staff made sure everything is clean and ready the day before reopening, October 13.
Aside from the minumum requirements of a face mask, shield, and physical distancing, SM Cinemas have put in new regulations in the branches that are reopening. Contactless payment options will be available when you buy tickets at their counters, a one-way path flow will be implemented in the area, and a two-seat gap will be left between movie watchers. Plus, regularly touched surfaces will be sanitized every 30 minutes and theaters will be given a deep-cleaning between every showing.
Several SM Cinema branches across the nation reopened today. Aside from SM Taytay, other cinemas near Metro Manila include SM Calamba and SM Bacoor. Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite are all currently under MGCQ status while the capital regions remains under GCQ—fingers crossed we can also head to our cinemas when the situation finally clears, too!

SM Cinemas first teased the return of their movie houses in July, promising a #SafeAndFunMovieWatching. While their Metro Manila branches are still closed, they opened up "Movies By the Bay," a drive-in cinema at the Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City this September.
