It's all virtual!

The Ayala Triangle’s Festival of Lights in Makati has been a long-standing tradition, and for the first time since its inauguration, there won’t be the beautiful, crowd-drawing Christmas installation that Pinoys have come to love.

But while these measures were taken in order to keep everyone safe from COVID-19, it doesn’t mean that the tradition won’t go on. For 2020, the Festival of Lights goes virtual. In partnership with Globe Studios and Acid House, the spectacle has been translated to a 360-degree immersive video, backgrounded by a Christmas medley by Reese Lansangan. It will launch tonight, November 24, at 6:00 p.m., on Make It Makati and Ayala Land’s Facebook pages, Instagram feeds, and YouTube accounts.

“The annual lights and sound show has been a family favorite for years,” says Ayala Land Head of Makati Estate Mel Ignacio in a release. “For this reason, Ayala Land and Make It Makati decided to continue the annual tradition by bringing the show through digital channels. We want the event to spark hope among Filipinos—hope that will help them remember that brighter days lie ahead of us.
