Homeowner Elnid Corpus’s story echoes that of many a Typhoon Ondoy victim’s struggle during the storm and the weeks that followed. After the flood subsided in the family home, there was still a calf-high layer of mud that took a month to clean. More than losing many of their belongings, Elnid and her relatives had to live in their severely flood-damaged house.

To give the Corpus family a brand new start and a chance at an even happier life, interior designer Hannah Acab-Faustino gave their property a makeover. She highlighted the existing high ceiling, spiral staircase, and other 1970s architectural elements with new paint, lighting, furniture, and décor.
