This Decorator Gave Her Tiny Home Office a Colorful Makeover
Elle Uy gave her home office a fresh look to get her creative juices flowing.
Decorator and vlogger Elle Uy calls her humble abode "the tall tiny house." That's because it was built on a lot that's around 27sqm, and the homeowner maximized it by building it vertically, resulting in a gorgeous three-storey home.
Because of the quarantine, Elle decided to refresh their loft area and turn it into a multi-purpose room that serve as a home office, lounge, and after the pandemic, a guest bedroom. On her vlog documenting the makeover, she shared that she repainted the walls from green to white with peach accents to give the room a lighter feel. And since it will be her new creative space, she made it extra colorful with indoor plants and decor pieces in blue, green, and gold.
Take a look at the before and after:
To save space, Elle used a foldable table as her office desk. Her work chair is a secondhand piece that she had upholstered, which is a great tip if you want to save cash on pricey furniture. Instead of a regular entryway, she installed a sliding door for the room, which can open up it up completely to let light in or close it for a little more privacy.
Meanwhile, the other side of the loft has two closets that can display more plants and provide extra storage. She also repainted a wooden dresser to match the greens in the room and fill up the empty space between the closets.
