RL Makeovers: A Two-Week Makeover for the Kitchen and Dining

Maya Tamayo and Barry Gutierrez have been residing in a two-storey house since 2005. Maya works at the University of the Philippines Center for Women's Studies Training and Outreach Program, while Barry is a UP law professor who is also associated with the Akbayan Partylist. They are proud parents to their kids, Amon and Arya.

In only two weeks, interior designer Vera Villarosa and architect Hector Ligeralde were able to completely change the home. The old yellow walls and cupboards were painted over with a cool gray shade. In line with the homeowners’ request, a nifty wine rack was also added to the kitchen. The dining area was separated from the kitchen with columns and partitions. The space is now furnished with customized seats and playful dinnerware.
