At 70 and 74-years-old respectively, it was becoming difficult for homeowners Nemencio and Gween Nicodemus to climb the stairs and go to their own bedroom. To make things easier, they would often eat, sleep, and entertain visitors in the living room of their family home. However, the area was too messy and cluttered – it was not a versatile space fit for all of their needs.

To help Nemencio and Gween, their daughter-in-law, Lanie Apostol-Nicodemus, joined Real Living’s makeover contest. Much to Lanie’s surprise, design consultant Elle Uy agreed to renovate the living area and the rest of the first floor! Elle organized the things and worked with the awkward, “pie-shaped” layout of the 30-year-old house. She was able to create clean, clutter-free, and cozy spaces that would be ideal for different activities.
