RL Makeovers: A Dainty Bedroom for a Retired Government Employee
Interior designer Hannah Acab-Faustino turned a drab area into a delightful space
Since homeowner Gloria Arce moved into her family's compound nearly 50 years ago, her house has only undergone basic repair and repainting. In fact, her bedroom walls have been painted green and brown for as long as she can remember.
As a former government employee who used to work Mondays to Fridays, her home once simply served as a place to sleep in. “'Pag nagwo-work ako, uuwi ako sa gabi, tapos aalis na naman ako sa umaga,” Gloria recalls.
However, now that she has retired, Gloria has been spending more time in this space. Although she has always wanted to have it renovated, she knew it could be expensive to hire an interior designer. Thankfully, she won a free Real Living bedroom makeover from interior designer Hannah Acab-Faustino.
To transform the plain and dull space, Hannah paired soft pastel shades and bright accent colors with a charming combination of patterns. The new color palette, exciting mix of prints, and updated furniture pieces have truly made this bedroom a soothing space for Gloria.
