Since the bedroom is the first place that you see every morning and the last place that you see at night, it should fill you with joy. Sadly, instead of being happy in this space, many homeowners feel stressed over the unwashed clothes on the floor, the random things on the bed, and the rest of the clutter in the place. Homeowner Gino Dalao used to face this particular problem everyday.

In order to improve his messy and cluttered bedroom, design consultant Marilen Faustino-Montenegro peeled off the old wallpaper, painted the walls and cabinets, and installed a red wooden panel. She also brought in brand new furniture and decor.

Here are the 4 things that we can learn from this mini bachelor pad:

Since the old wallpaper made the bedroom look unattractive, Marilen peeled it off. Then, she covered the walls with beige paint from Handyman.

Marilen also cut off the built-in headboard of the old bed. For a bright and clean look, she painted the entire bed frame.

Instead of a new headboard, Marilen attached a red panel to the bedroom wall. The bright color and diagonal placement makes the space look interesting.

RL Tip: To make the place feel warm and cozy, you can purchase a nice shag rug.

You can spruce up the wall behind your TV with a few floating shelves! Wall-mounted shelves can be used to display framed photos and organize the rest of your belongings.

Before you throw out your old bed or study table, you may want to paint it first! For this particular bedroom, Marilen painted both the bed frame and the study table.

The old black table is now covered with bold red paint. The designer also plans to cover the newly painted desk with clear gloss lacquer so that it won't have dents and scratches.
