A Plain Sleeping Space Turned Into a Pinterest-Worthy Bedroom

How does one move on from a traumatic experience? Some travel, others take a hiatus, and there are a few who pick up the pieces and soldier on. In 2009, the owner of this bedroom accidentally left her hair iron plugged in, resulting in a fire that caused his father to suffer third-degree burns on his limbs. While the fire was put out just in time, the accident left the owner guilty and with a bland sleeping space. The bedroom underwent a simple renovation—with blue walls and a few salvaged furniture pieces completing the look.

Thankful that no one got badly injured that day, the owner thought that it was time for a makeover after eight years. Real Living, together with interior designer Vera Villarosa-Orila, turned the plain bedroom into an IG-worthy sleeping space. The delightful mix of blue, blush, and gray gives the room a cozy and calming look, while Vera made sure to accommodate the owner’s request for a bigger bed and an inspirational wall. With a bedroom as pretty and relaxing as this, the owner is more than ready to move on and face the challenges that will come her way.

Prior to the makeover, the room was painted blue and filled with old furniture pieces. To update the look of the space, Vera took into consideration the owner's request for a cool palette.
