RL Makeovers: A Clean, Modern Look for a Nursery
A light-colored bedroom for a young couple and their first child
To prepare for the birth of their firstborn, homeowners Babet and Gerald decided to turn their master bedroom into an area fit for them and their child. Although it was already clean and spacious, the room was too bare and simple. “We want to dedicate a space in our room for the baby,” says Babet.
Since Babet and Gerald are both engineers, interior designer Ayet San Jose and her Design1528 team used geometric patterns and modern elements like shiny metallic finishes. Ayet also chose eco-friendly and non-toxic materials like Dunn-Edwards paints which are low in VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) – which can be harmful to one’s health.

The closet by the entrance was also improved by adding storage cabinets on top and replacing the doors with new laminated doors from Multi-Rich Home Decors. For more space for the baby’s toiletries and other essentials, the flat screen TV is placed in an open shelf cabinet.
