When it comes to improving our spaces, we make sure that no stone will be left unturned in terms of layout, decor, and overall look. Many of us save up for a complete overhaul and there are those who work on a renovation slowly—buying pieces one by one, carefully planning where each will go.

If you're in the process of deciding whether it's time to give your home a makeover, we've rounded up five transformations that our readers worked on. These spaces prove that even with a limited budget, you can do a lot to brighten up a space. Check out the inspiring makeovers below and discover an idea or two for your own haven:

A P12,000 Bedroom Makeover

Some would think that green walls can bring in a touch of nature into a space, however, if it's a bit bright—it may not make you feel calm and relaxed after a long day. To turn things around in his bedroom, reader Danny chose to repaint the walls, replace the furniture, and add well-thought-out decor pieces.

A Complete Kitchen Transformation

Would you believe that the bright and inviting cooking space that you see on the right used to be cluttered, tiny, and gloomy? To transform her kitchen, interior decorator Rochelle Javier took into consideration her kitchen habits as well as invested in the best materials and appliances. Don't be in a hurry to change the look of your home. It's best to plan ahead, have enough budget, and carefully study all bases first to avoid mistakes and extra expenses.

A Streamlined Kitchen Renovation

We've mentioned it before—having additional storage pieces is enough to help you give any area at home a much needed update. In this kitchen, RL reader Jill Lejano improved the space by repainting the walls and ceiling, retiling the counter and backsplash, and installing new shelves and rods to keep the various kitchen essentials in place. The result is a sleek and streamlined cooking haven with a modern appeal.

A Scandinavian-Inspired Condo Home

Those who purchase condo units usually come home to a standard space with plain walls and ordinary fittings upon turnover. Of course, all of us would feel more at home in a personalized space with selected furniture and decor.

To transform an 89sqm unit, reader Aileen worked on a six-month renovation period. After months of hard work and sourcing, the space now has a Scandinavian appeal with a mix of modern and shabby chic touches. We especially loved the striped wall in the foyer as well as the wooden pieces in the living and dining areas.

A Travel-Inspired Loft-Type Unit

What can you do in a 20sqm unit? RL reader Avis chose clever details, small space solutions, and multipurpose must-haves to make the most of the limited area. With the addition of travel-inspired decor and quirky touches, the space is perfect for those who simply want to take a break from city life and relish the beauty of Cebu.
