We've said this phrase a thousand times before but we'll say it again—our homes are an extension of who we are. From the color of our walls to our choices in decor, everything that we can find within the four walls of our abodes reflect and affect our outlook in life. To help make sure that your sanctuary is the perfect picture of happiness and positivity 24/7, here are some simple habits you can incorporate into your lifestyle:

1. Declutter.

Be it clothes, makeup or home decor—throwing out things you no longer need, especially when your home feels cramped, is deeply satisfying. Believe it or not, letting go of things has the power to cleanse your home of negative energy.

3. Finish an old project.

Whether you’re an avid crafter or not, we all have at least one unfinished project hidden in a closet somewhere. If you’re feeling a little blue, try taking it out and finishing it. Having a sense of productivity can drastically change your disposition and the vibe in your home.

4. Treat yourself.

Get the beautiful glass vase you’ve been eyeing for weeks, buy a few bouquets of fresh blooms or enjoy a slice of chocolate cake in your breakfast nook—whatever it is, it’s important to reward yourself after a week of hard work.

5. Display inspiring home quotes.

If you want to be constantly reminded to stay positive, a few framed pieces will keep you in a sunny mood. Pinterest is a treasure trove of these quotes!
