From Clean House to Property Brothers and Fixer Upper, you can say that we’re instantly obsessed with shows that are related to the home. We love seeing interesting and unique living spaces, including how the homeowners live day-to-day. So, when we saw that Buzzfeed was coming out with their own take on one-of-a-kind home, we got excited and just had to watch every episode!

HomeBuddies  is a show created and hosted by Niki Ang and Garrett Werner—two of Buzzfeed’s most popular video producers. Fueled by their fascination with how other people live, they embark on an adventure every week to experience different types of lodging situations and see what brings them closer together or pushes them apart. The online series is currently running (the first season is on its 9th episode!) and here are our top three favorites, so far:

We Lived in a Houseboat (Episode 3)

People are always talking about waterfront living but nobody ever mentions houseboats! If we ever see any, they are mostly tight and cramped, but the Coop de Villa on this episode can substitute a huge house. It’s complete with a large living room, a full-sized kitchen, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms—the hosts said that it almost felt like living in a luxurious apartment except it’s on water.

We Lived in an Earthship (Episode  8)

We’ve featured many ways to turn your house into a sustainable living space but this one is on a whole new level! Earthship is built with natural and recycled materials with energy conservation in mind. The goal was to create a living space that addresses six different lifestyle issues: comfortable shelter that doesn’t use fossil fuel, electricity, water, sewage, food, and what to do with garbage produced. Aside from the modern amenities for a comfortable living space, the Earthship units are fitted with a gray water system, solar power system, big windows, and an indoor garden where you can grow your own food.

We Lived in a Mansion (Episode 9)

We included this episode because who wouldn’t want to experience living lavishly? This home has all the cool amenities you can think of—in fact, it has the hosts' favorites because Garrett has finally found a shower tall enough for him (he’s 6”7!) and a private space for Niki’s quiet time. The mansion has 6 bedrooms, 6 baths, a pool with a water slide and waterfall, a professional kitchen, a game room, movie theater, mini-golf course, a trampoline, horse-shoe pit, playground area, guest casita (guest house), and a gym.
