This Open-Air Starbucks Store Has A View Of A Coffee Farm

Starbucks Hacienda Alsacia is located on the slopes of the Poas Volcano, where you will find their on-site open-air cafe that offers their signature Hacienda Alsacia coffee, locally inspired food, and a sweeping view of their 240-hectare coffee farm.

Starbucks purchased Hacienda Alsacia back in 2013, but the coffee farm has been producing coffee since 1970. They bought this land to nurture it into a model of sustainable farming and here, they are also working on new coffee varietals of Arabica coffee trees that can resist crop diseases like coffee rust.

According to the official website, the people at Starbucks Hacienda Alsacia share their best practices and hybrid coffee beans with other coffee farmersâeven those they don't sell toâto help ensure the future of the coffee industry.

If you want to take a tour of the place before your cup of coffee at their al fresco cafe, you can book a 90-minute tour where you will learn the journey of the coffee seed to your cup plus get a hands-on look at a working tree nursery, wet mill, drying patio, and roaster.

Starbucks Hacienda Alsacia is located in San Luis, Sabanilla, Alahuela. It is 45 minutes away from the Costa Rican capital of San Jose.
