Arriving in the Philippines? Here's Everything You Need to Do

Philippine Airlines on Monday released guidelines for passenger arrivals as restrictions were tightened in response to new COVID-19 variants.
While the usual testing and quarantine are mandatory for all, there are differences in steps for Overseas Filipino Workers and non-Overseas Filipino Workers. In this guide, we broke down what you need to do—may you be a returning Filipino worker or a tourist.
Before you flyÂ
For non-OFWs:
Fill out the Electronic Case Investigation Form on this website as early as three days before your departure.
Your must pre-book an accredited hotel for at least seven nights. See a list of accredited hotels.
For OFWs:
Before you land in the Philippines, register online at the Red Cross website for land-based OFWs and dependents. There's another website for seafarers and their dependents. These two sites will give you a QR code.
Upon check-in
For non-OFWs:
At the check-in counters, you must present your Traze App QR code and QR code from the e-CIF website. You also need to present an Affidavit of Undertaking.
During the flight, you must fill out a health declaration form, an arrival card, and a Bureau of Customs form.
For OFWs:
OFWs only need to present the e-CIF QR Code and Traze App QR Code, and fill health declaration form, an arrival card, and a Bureau of Customs form.
At the airportÂ
For non-OFWs:
Upon deplaning, passengers will undergo briefing and a temperature check. The Bureau of Quarantine will then collect the accomplished health declaration forms from all passengers.
A hotel coordinator will confirm your booking and validate your affidavit of undertaking or AOU. You will proceed to the next booth for an RT-PCR test priced at P4,000. Place the received sticker on the back of your passport.
Once cleared, you may claim your baggage and submit your AOU and Bureau of Quarantine forms to proceed to your arranged transportation. Arrival date is counted as Day 1.
For OFWs:
Sea-based OFWs will proceed to the Validation and Verification Desk. First aid personnel will confirm your registration.
Once you've submitted your arrival card and cleared with Immigration, you can claim your baggage.
Land-based OFWs can proceed to the OWWA desk and sea-based OFWs can go to the MARINA desk for quarantine hotel assignments and transportation arrangements.
According to the Department of Transportation, accommodation for land-based OFWs will be provided free of charge by OWWA. The Local Manning Agency of sea-based OFWs will arrange for your hotel accommodation or quarantine facility. Arrival date is counted as Day 1.
At the hotel
For non-OFWs:
If you show symptoms between Day 1 and Day 6, immediately inform the hotel. Those with symptoms will be assessed by health officers for medical arrangements and testing, if needed.
On or before Day 3, confirm your hotel and room number. You must answer the online form on the Philippine Airlines website.
By Day 5, the airline's testing partner will confirm your location and test schedule by contacting you through the hotel.
On Day 6, present your passport, QR code, and receipt to the staff who will administer your RT-PCR test.
While waiting for results, individuals must observe safety protocols while in quarantine.
For OFWs:
The Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine Red Cross will administer an RT-PCR test on Day 6 of quarantine. OFWs must present their QR code and passport.
If you show symptoms between Day 1 and Day 6, immediately inform the hotel. Those with symptoms will be assessed by health officers for medical arrangements and testing, if needed.
While waiting for results, all OFWs must observe safety protocols while in quarantine.
Results are outÂ
For BOTH non-OFWs and OFWs:
If you test positive on Day 6, you will be moved to a designated hospital for further medical management or stay at the quarantine hotel for 14 days and be transferred to a stringent facility.
For non-OFWs:
If you test negative on Day 6, obtain your BOQ medical certificate by e-mailing the BOQ at [email protected]. Present this together with your negative result to obtain clearance from the hotel. You must complete the remaining days of your 14-day quarantine under the monitoring of your local government unit.
For OFWs:
If you test negative on Day 6, present your result and digital medical certificate from the BOQ to obtain clearance from the hotel. You must complete the remaining days of your 14-day quarantine under the monitoring of your local government unit.
