Check out this nature-themed accommodation just a stone's throw away from Manila in San Rafael, Bulacan

If you’ve ever been on the hunt for your next staycation location, then you’re in luck. The Thai Cons Club might just be for you.
The term “Thai Cons” might not exactly be familiar to many, but it is to certified plantitos and plantitas. It’s actually another way to call the famous monstera plant, taken from its complete name, Thai Constellation. That’s where hotel/resort owner Emiel Patawaran drew inspiration for their business.

A nature-themed accommodation for friends and family
The Thai Cons Club, a two-hectare property located in San Rafael, Bulacan, features two spacious villas ideal for big groups such as families and barkadas. Initially, the lot was used by Emiel’s family, but they later realized its value.
“The market is good there [in San Rafael], not gonna lie,” Emiel tells the OG team. “Talagang lahat fully booked na resort. And then we want to share din the beauty of the nature, e. ‘Yon talaga kasi yung theme namin dito. And as much as possible, ‘yon talaga yung pinanghahawakan namin. Walang puno na mapuputol.”
The Thai Cons Club’s Villa 1, for instance, which measures 225 square meters, has its own two to five-foot deep swimming pool, a deck for lounging, a grilling area, not to mention its own entertainment area for Netflix marathons, karaoke, or even drinking sessions.
“Linatagan namin ‘to ng fake grass para lahat puwede mong gawing relaxation area, Emiel says.
The pool also features an adjoining heated pool perfect for soothing body aches and pains. An outdoor toilet and bathroom is conveniently located nearby. The deck, meanwhile, also serves as a great place to have coffee and breakfast, also to enjoy freshly grilled barbecue.
Stepping inside the villa, one is greeted with several couches for lounging. Chandeliers also emphasize the accommodation’s high ceiling.

“One of the most unique things dito sa Thai Cons Villa is everywhere you look and everywhere you go, you can always find a couch or something to sit on,” Emiel says. “Talagang yung relaxation mo on its peak.”
The villa also comes with a kitchen complete with a refrigerator for guests’ cold or frozen goods, a sink, countertop, and utensils, along with a bathroom. Upstairs is the bedroom with two beds. Guests can also request for additional beds.
Villa 2, meanwhile, is a larger replica of Villa 1, with bigger windows, more chandeliers, more couches, and a two-door fridge. Upstairs are five double beds. Its floor area measures 70 square meters while its lot area measures approximately 320 square meters.
The future of Thai Cons Club
All in all, building the resort cost Emiel and her family around P7 to P8 million. Soon, the Thai Cons Club will have its own basketball court, common pool, restaurant, bar, outdoor gyms, as well as its own and spa and sauna amenities.
“This used to be a farm,” Emiel shares. “Talagang lahat tambakin, patagin, pero ano namin is ‘wag tipirin, sige, gastusan.”
